We keep to our principles at Bridport Gourmet Pies, we use traditional methods and draw on the knowledge and experience of Martin and Janet who have been in the butchery trade for over 40 years. They make sure that we use only the best cuts of meat from farmers that we know and trust, whos animals are cared for to the highest standards.

All of our pastry is handmade by bakers in our kitchens to recipies that have been developed over the years by us, using the finest traditional ingredients, we still use butter and lard to create the right texture and taste that you will remember from your childhood.

Our GOURMET range are exactly what it says on the label, what we are about, what you see is what you get. If it says steak and kidney that is what's inside - steak and kidney, no vegetables, nothing else, real honest food with a real honest taste. Our WESTCOUNTRY range does include locally sourced vegetables.

The DORSET PLAIT range

In 2009 the DORSET PLAIT range was created and Bridport Gourmet Pies successfully trademarked Dorset Plait.

The Dorset Plait range is a versatile range of products that can be eaten hot or cold, whole or cut into 2,3 or 4 to share. It is ideal with salad and potatoes or for picnics and lunchboxes and thinly sliced makes a wonderful addition to a buffet table. The range is available in individual size or sharing size as a fresh cooked product or bake-off. It is made using our finest puff pastry which encases wonderful combinations that include: Pork, Ham, Cheese & Chutney, Chicken, Pork & Spicy Apricot, Beef & Horseradish, Picnic, Veal, Maple and Mustard and Fish Medley. When you bite into this product you will be getting the true taste of Dorset.

Homity Pies and Fidget Pies

Whilst mentioning favourites we must not forget the popular Homity Pie, a certain best seller. An open topped pie made from locally sourced cheese, potatoes, onions, a hint of garlic and herbs, the Homity Pie has a history that dates back to the efforts of the intrepid 'land girls' of the Second World War. There are three flavours: Mature Cheddar Cheese,Dorset Blue Vinney Cheese or Goats Cheese. An ideal option for vegetarians.

Another speciality pie is the unique Dorset Fidget, which comprises of Gammon with onions in a cider, apple and sage sauce.

Bridport Gourmet Pies make various pasties from the Traditional Pasty to the Breakfast Pasty, D Shaped Pasty, Pork & Blue Vinney Cheese Pasty, Lamb Pasty, Cheese & Onion Pasty, Chicken & Asparagus Pasty and the West Country Pasty. Pasties are made using both our puff pastry and shortcrust pastry.
